The Fifth Population Research Forum of JingJinJi Graduate Student curtained up in the meeting-room 438, Department of Sociology, Peking University on June 17th, 2012. About 120 teachers and students from 8 universities in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei provice, i.e. Peking University, Renmin University of China, Nankai University, Hebei University attended the conference. Zhu Xiaoyang, the vice director of department of sociology of PKU, Zhai Zhenwu, the vice Chairman of China Population Association and Lu Jiehua, the profeessor of department of sociology of PKU, attended and addressed the opening ceremony.

The forum features an array of activities including a centerpiece conference and other sub -forums and seminars that focus on the overall judgment of the situation of Chinese population， population and social problems， migrant， as well as ageing issues etc. 32 students gave the keynote speeches to talk about their papers. The expert comments are also exciting and thought-provoking. The teachers evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of each speaker. All of participants said it did benefit greatly from the forum.

The one-day meeting ended with an animated and lively discussion. The session concluded with another presentation by Pro.Li Jianxin on behalf of department of sociology of PKU. The next forum will be held in Renmin University of China in 2013.
