BRIEF INTRODUCTION:

For a long time sex research has been in a marginal position of sociological study. The main reason for sociology ignoring sex problem is due to its functional tradition. According to functional ideas, sex is not an important problem. Although man is different from woman in material interest and rights, yet the differences have functional necessity and that are not social injustice. However, it brings about dis- appreciation on sex research. On base of utilizing western sex research, the book analyzed and dwell upon the representation of sex problem in China and arguments involved with it, furthermore, elaborated the author’s point view about sex problem. Most materials of the book are obtained from an oral history of small samples (162 people), of which urban women are in minority and a little are men and country women. Due to its small number of samples, the research only has exploratory meaning, but not inferential value to definite overall target.
