Sociology Post-doctoral  Station ,CASS

Established in 1999, the Sociology Post-doctoral Station in Sociology, Institute of Sociology, CASS, has 15 post-doctoral advisers (see the details in the website column). By May 2012, the station recruited 13 classes, or 87 students in total. At present, there are 26 post-docs, 60 graduates and 1 withdrawal.
The station follows the regulations made by the “National Post-doctoral Management Committee” and the “CASS Post-doctoral  Management Committee”. Based on the principals of “equity, justice, and openness”, the program recruits post-doctoral candidates nationwide with solid scholarly training and pioneering spirits, through rigorous process of evaluation by the expert group in the Institute of Sociology, CASS. It would be then approved by the CASS Post-doctoral  Management Committee and the National Post-doctoral  Management Committee.
For the past 13 years, the station has trained quite a number of high quality researchers who have undertaken significant projects and published numerous monographs and papers. In 2004, 14 post-docs participated in the 36th World Congress of the International Institute of Sociology in Beijing. In order to strengthen the scholarly exchange among the post-docs and experts in sociology, beginning in 2006, an annual China Sociological Post-doctoral Forum has been organized respectively in the cities of Beijing, Wuhan, Xiamen, Shenyang and Chongqing. The forum will be continued, and post-docs will be invited to participate in the seminars organized by the Institute of Sociology.
