Youth Studies

Guidelines for Contributors

  1. Youth Studies publishes scholarly papers, investigation reports, research reviews and book reviews in youth studies and other related subfields. It does not publish articles that have been already published elsewhere. The length of the articles should be between 10,000-20,000 characters.
  2. The articles submitted should be in the Chinese language. The author should submit via email it tosbjb@cass.org.cn, or send a hard copy to Editorial Office, Youth Studies, the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Jianguomen nei Streets 5, Beijing, China 100732.
  3. The cover page of the article should include the following: (1) full article title, each author’s name and affiliation(s), and contact information such as phone number, mailing address, and email address.
  4. The second page of the article should include: (1) full article title; (2) abstract in Chinese, not to exceed 200 characters; (3) 3~5 key words; (4) article title in English, author(s) name(s) in pinyin, or English name(s); (5) abstract in English not to exceed 150 words.
  5. Citations in the text should provide the last name of the author(s), year of publication, and page number all in parenthesis. More detailed information concerning publication should be listed in the references section at the end of the article. The reference should separately list the Chinese and English works, and place them in the alphabetical order by authors’ last names. Book and journal titles of English works appeared in the references should be in italic form. Notes should be in footnote format.
  6. Titles, tables, graphs and notes should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they appear in the text. Headings and subheadings should follow the four levels: 一、二、三…;(一)、(二)、(三)…;1、2、3…;(1)、(2)、(3)…
  7. Each table or graph should be noted in the given text.
  8. The sole criterion for publication is the scholarly quality of the paper, and a three-level inspection system is practiced.
  9. Permission. Copyright issues should be dealt with according to the Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China and related international laws. Permission must be obtained from the Editorial Office if any published articles in this journal would be republished or translated elsewhere.
  10. All the published articles in this journal will be included in the electronic journal networks. Consent is assumed upon submission unless it is otherwise noted.
  11. Please submit the paper directly to the Editorial Office. Due to limited personnel support, unused papers are not returned to the author. Please consider submission to another journal if you do not hear from us after four months since your submission. Once your article is published, we will send you two copies of the sample issue of the journals.
